Is It Okay To Use My Personal Cell Phone For Business?
People in operations center talking on Landline phone. Operators in the office.
This is a question many people ask themselves if they are just getting started, and are on a fixed budget.
I would not provide my personal cell phone number to my business or potential business customers. It seems a little unprofessional, and it really isn’t necessary.
There are FREE and inexpensive options. If you can’t spare a penny, then you should consider getting a GOOGLE voice number, you can have this ring on your cell phone (if it’s not a prepaid phone), and you will always know that the call is coming fom Google Voice, and answer it professionally.
Then you won’t accidently answer a call after business hours, or answer a call that is not personal as if it is.
However, if you have twenty-five dollars ($25.00), actually more like thirty-four ($34.00) with taxes. Ring Central is a GREAT investment. It is really one of the best systems I have ever used.
With this system you can have the calls forward to cell phone, house phone, or another phone, put in a special code which lets you know where the call is coming from. Their system hunts you down using the phone numbers you have provided.
This system lets you look like a big corporation even if you are just a one-person shop. It gives you the ability to set up different extensions, play hold music, faxing capabilities, toll free number, local number, and much more. Pay a few more bucks, and you also get automatic call recording. This feature comes in handy if you have a need to convert phone conversation into contracts, or if you need to review the conversation before memorializing it in writing. This is a GREAT feature, and a GREAT system.
So, if you are on a limited budget, these would be our suggestions for you.
